I bought these because of what seemed like good reviews and very good pricing. What a mistake. They offer muffled, muddy, boomy sound. All they do well is that they are loud. I got rid of them within a week, giving them away, and simply taking a loss. Their replacement, the Bose Companion 3, Series II, cost $249, but was worth every penny.
