I have a Sony STR800, a PS3, and am planning on a Sony 52" HDTV. The transmitter is compatible with my SRT800, and the S-AIR speakers sound like a good idea, BUT I will not purchase the units without answers to the following questions: (There is almost NO info in the Amazon online description and the Sony website is no better)

1. How many speakers are in the advertised $81 package (a very simple question) one or two? The product information is useless and one of the previous reviewers suggested two.
2. I understand that a $40 transmitter is needed, but the description (with reviewer confusion) is not clear whether a single transmitter handles four speakers or whether a daisy chain of transmitters is needed, one for each speaker.
3. Can two speakers be used in a remote room as two stereo speakers analogous to the front speakers in my home theater setup?
4. Can two speakers be used as additional surround sound rear speakers with my STR800 to expand the system from my 5.1 setup in my living room to the supported 7.1 system?
5. Can both #3 and#4 be implemented simultaneously?
6. If only one speaker is used in a room, what is the source of the mono output?
7. One reviewer implied that the system did not support all audio modes of the STR800 (apparently, no digital sources are supported). In particular, if I stream music from my PS3 to the STR800 will that digital stream be transmitted and reproduced as stereo in a second room using the S-AIR speakers.

I find these speakers amazingly adequate as temporary replacements for my venerable-but-finally-broken EPI 1200's.

These speakers are hold-me-overs until I decently replace some Epicure EPI 1200's over 25 years old. The EPI's 12" woofer suspensions finally rotted resulting a buzzing when any sound in the woofer's bailiwick comes along.

I found out about these Sony speakers courtesy of the ceaseless flow of email some of us allow Amazon to send us. The deal was much less than $100 and the reviews pretty much said "suprisingly good".

When I turned my system on after connecting these speakers I was pleased with what I heard, aware as I was of some flaws. There is a certain lack of coherence, the sound stage is narrower than the separation of the speakers, and of course they don't go as low as the EPIs did in their heyday. My wife, who has much better hearing than I do, notices less high end than before. And for a little while, when we switch on the system we will be expecting to hear the EPI sound, and getting the low-end sound.

Again though, for what I've paid (shipping was a significant add on because of the weight and the urgency) they are great.

I had too high of expectations for this subwoofer. I thought I would get a house pounding unit, but I was foolish into thinking $100 could buy me that, it cannot. This thing performs well. I've havent compared it with any other subs similar to it, but have had other Infinity Subs in the past and its performance is less, but so was the price. Less than 1/2 the price of my infinity subs. For the money, id be very suprised to see/hear a better subwoofer. As with anything, it will take some tweeking to bring out the most of its potential, but well worth it. You will surely be disapointed if you just plug it in and listen. Learn to tune it using the equalizer of your reciever and Subwoofer output settings. We are very happy with these speakers. We really wanted a home theater system but did not want to spend a lot of money.

We took a chance based on the reviews to try these. We wanted something decent and better than the old speakers we had. These work well beyond our expectations! Everyone who has come over has been very impressed with the sound quality- from music to football!

The speakers may be small but they put out big sound. We figured we would use these for a while until we could afford a "better" system but we are so happy with them we don't have any plans to replace them.

I use this unit at work in my office to listen to Ambient and Classical music. I tried the Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 which was awesome except for the fact that it's auto-shut off feature is too sensitive with the kind of music I listen to and really made it unusable for me. I tried the Altec imt620 which had good sound but had an unusually loud speaker hiss at all volumes that bothered me. It would also reset the volume too high when I would reinsert my iPhone 3GS into the unit.

The Logitech s315i is the perfect comprimise. The sound quality is good, but not great. For my needs (low volume, background music) it's perfect. The small size and portability are great. I also listen to audio streams and I don't have to worry about it shutting down for no reason. There is no speaker hiss either. It is really just an extension of the iPhone's built in speakers. No bells and whistles, just a basic, solid, decent sounding speaker.

I do believe that it is a little overpriced for what you get. Having no remote control is disappointing too, but not a deal breaker for me.

I would have given it 5 stars, but the less than perfect sound, no remote control and high price tag keeps it from getting the highest rating in my book.

Bottom Line - if you just need a good, portable, no frills speaker set that lets you have all the control and if you aren't an audiophile, then this is the unit for you.
