I came to this site because my mother wants to give me this speaker for a Christmas present ( I do the leg work, she buys the present). You see I gave her this very same portable speaker system the previous Christmas and we have found it to be everything we've hoped. Yes, it takes a lot of batteries, but it comes with adaptors, which still makes it portable, and the batteries are fine for backup when you don't have an outlet.
My mother's home is not big -- a one bedroom condo- but it gives her the freedom to carry her music ( and a tv speaker) to her bathroom, her bedroom, and her patio.
