Buying Yamaha NS-M225P Floorstanding Speakers (Pair)

Once they have had a bit of time to burn in (10-20 hours), these have excellent range for the size of their drivers. They can hit fairly low notes (kick drums, bass guitars, explosions, etc.) but don't sacrafice on the mids or highs either. I've used them exclusively for music so far, and they have done wonderfully. I've thrown classical, rock, alternative, jazz, rap, and hip-hop at them.

Make sure to let them burn in for a little while before making a judgement. Out of the box they have a difficult time hitting low notes due to their small driver size, but after letting them play at moderate volumes for a while, they settle in very nicely.

These are worth the money when they are on sale for about $70, but wouldn't spend the $230 MSRP price tag on them. For $200, you can get a decent set of full size floor standing speakers that will have an even better frequency range than these...

I burnt my speakers in using a 50/50 combination of classical music and white noise at moderately loud volume for about 10-20 hours.Get more detail about Yamaha NS-M225P Floorstanding Speakers (Pair).
