The Yamaha YSTSW012 subwoofer performs very well. For the size of the unit, and for the price, this little subwoofer puts out more low bass than would be expected. I have it in a medium size size room as part of a Dobly 6.1 home theatre system. It was tested on this weeks episode of ABC's "Lost" show in H.D. and Dolby Digital, and the gunshots were so realisitic it startled me! It kicks for music as well.
