I've been using the JBL On Tour for four years now and it has performed wonderfully!! I use it in the enclosed space of my office, and it sounds great! Have never used it outside or in a larger area, but I didn't buy it for that.
It's perfect with music as well as audiobooks and podcats and it has performed with the same excellence through 2 iPod nanos and the current iPod Touch.
