I agree with most of the reviews about this item. I would like to first state that I am a musician and feel pretty confident in my audio prowess. But I have to review these from a consumer perspective. I should also consider the cost of this system as well as the application.

I could have lived with the speakers on my TV, but the added lift and fullness that these bring is very nice. I currently have only hooked up the center, left front, & right front due to the size of my living room. But the system is WAAAAAYYYY loud enough. It's such a boost that I have to barely turn the volume knob up to just above all the way off and it gives plenty of sound. I have yet to drop in a really thunderous action flick yet and tried it, but I live in a 2nd floor apartment, so I want to keep my neighbors happy. But I can tell, just from the ultra-low level that I have been playing them at, that this system will kick. For the price, I was thoroughly impressed. The sub-woofer is not thumping, but it gives a nice deep aspect to the overall sound. Unless you are a hard core, die-hard home theater buff and you have a huge visual system already in place, this audio system is great. I have had these for a week and have been nothing but happy with them. They were crazy easy to set up. The speaker wires are color coded so that you know which speaker goes to which connection on the back of the sub. We were watching "Up" the other night and even with only those three speakers, the directionality was very nice. When the character was on the left side of the screen, there voice came out of the left speaker a lot stronger. I was impressed by that. No this indoor/outdoor speaker does not sound as good as my high-end Klipsch set but it does sound good. No static or crackly interference, the sound transmission is clean and smooth. Setup is a snap and the onboard controls are ample. You can put the satellite receiver on zone 2 or your receiver, on the headphone jack of your PC/laptop or Xen/iPod. Range is my only complaint with this speaker. 150-ft is a hard limit and I question if I can even really go that far. Too many walls in between the satellite base and the speaker also causes problems. I can't speak to battery life as I've only used the AC input on the speaker so far. Amazing speaker. I bought this sub because of the other reviews from buyers and they are all true. I installed it in less than 30 minutes, it sounds great and I can't turn it up over minimum due to an apartment setting. I purchased these rock speakers in the summer and they performed quite well. They output a lot of sound when needed and blend it perfect in my flowerbeds. I was lucky enough to have an an old satellite wire coming thru the outside of my living room I didnt use anymore and was able to fish the wire inside the house. I havent used them since october so im not sure how they hold up in the elements. Other reviewers have said they have had no problems with the speakers withstanding wet/stormy weather. I didnt set my expectation bar high in other words I knew I wasnt buying bose, or JBL but these get the job done. The one thing reccomended when buying these is to buy extra speaker wire and wire connectors. So I moved to a much smaller apartment with thin as hell walls. I had to ditch my uber home theater gear in favor of more room and neighbor friendly products. I had already snagged the Polk sats for a smoking deal locally, but needed some subtle bottom fill. Enter the Polk 10".

Like most I read the reviews of the cheaper model and the pricier ones. Having experience and knowing how to interpret online reviews I went with this one. It's exactly as I expected, maybe a tad larger than I hoped, but that's it.

I set it up and let my Yamaha do it's auto calibrate. I did this with the sub set to 50% volume (using LFE input too). When it was done I gave it a listen. For the volumes I can use safely play in my place, movies and music sounded great. Plenty of low end grunt for both.

For everyday use I set the sub level down to 25% to truly achieve a non floor vibrating subtle low end fill. No complaints yet and it's not any louder than any of my neighbors jam gear. Again, no vibration into the floor and when walking all over the apartment as well as outside I wasn't hearing any of the long standing waves pummeling the air.

I have had this center channel for about 2 years now. Simply put, you cannot match the quality of the sound from this unit for the money. Sure, you can drop $400 on something else (get what you pay for). But unless you put this speaker side by side with the high end units you won't hear a difference.

My opinion is this; if your receiver is under $500, this is a great CC for you. If you are dropping a TON of dough on the receiver, the step up the center.

I really don't make it a habit of reviewing products, but I am so pleased with this pseudo-5.1 sound system, I thought I would give the accolades it deserves. The sound is powerful, and loud. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I find the dialogue in the movies to be crisp and clear. I was hesitant to buy this system, because of a lack of HDMI switching, but the optical and coaxial cables suit me fine (granted I bought a universal remote, that now does all the switching for me). My PS3 never sounded better, and the high gloss finish looks beautiful. I was initially looking into the Sony HT-100, but after listening to it at Best Buy, I was very disappointed. So I had to start from scratch, until I ran across this soundbar system on Amazon.
