Brought these speakers on Amazon in Sept 2008 and have had them for over a year. Just wanted to provide a simple review regarding their performance. They are a very good entry level speaker (pair for under 0.5K) with great sonic balance lows, mids and highs. The bass response has developed over time, at first I thought a subwoofer would always be necessary, although a subwoofer has its role in a home theater system; these speakers will hold their own in a stereo setup. I have removed the cross-over bridging clips and run separate amps to the bass and treble sections of each speaker from my Yamaha RX-V663. Highly recommended speaker. The piano finish luster still shines and presents a nice complement to your entertainment center. I got this unit about 2 months ago and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I am using it with a jbl on time clock radio/ipod speaker system and it sounds great. The controls are easy to get to and you can get a variety of different sounds from deep sub bass to more musical mid bass. The only draw back that I could find would be the the volume of the unit. It is perfect for my application but if I was using it for my home theater it might not be powerful enough. All in all I found it to be a great unit for a great price and would not hesitate to reccomend it to anyone.

I came to this site because my mother wants to give me this speaker for a Christmas present ( I do the leg work, she buys the present). You see I gave her this very same portable speaker system the previous Christmas and we have found it to be everything we've hoped. Yes, it takes a lot of batteries, but it comes with adaptors, which still makes it portable, and the batteries are fine for backup when you don't have an outlet.
My mother's home is not big -- a one bedroom condo- but it gives her the freedom to carry her music ( and a tv speaker) to her bathroom, her bedroom, and her patio. I purchased the Polk CS10 center channel speaker to go with the Polk ceilings speakers, an 8" subwoofer, and Yamaha RX-V765 receiver. This speaker sounds pretty good for the price. I had Polk speakers before and had been pretty happy with them. My old Polk speakers lasted a long time and sounded great as does this one. I almost went with the CS20 but it was a little bit large for my preference and $100 more, so I went with the CS10 and it sounds pretty good. Have had this product for a few weeks and it performs great.Setup was easy and it has plenty of power to produce great sound,so much in fact that I had to adjust the bass settings down a little. I have it hooked to a dish network 722 HD receiver,PS3,and a Sony dvd player all running to a Samsung LN46B550.The sound quality is amazing and the switching between components is seamless other than a slight clicking noise when the receiver changes between sound formats(DTS to Dolby and vice versa)but that is my only minor complaint.
