it showed up right on time, worked perfect right out of the box before i even had to charge it up. took it on a beach trip and it played the entire 2 hour trip with no problem while charging the Ipod. i did call their tech support because it wouldnt charge 2 Ipod classics that my friend had, they said that gen 1 & 2 of the classic ipod wont work with this pa system. i plugged in 2 nano gen 4 ipods, one into the cradle and another using the RCA connections and both worked perfect.

The price was one that I could not pass up. These 4-way tower speakers are absolutely great! They look and sound amazing. I wish I would have bought them a few years ago but the price I paid for them I am glad I waited. I got a great deal, basically half-price! The only gripe I have is one of the speakers that I had shipped to me was damaged during shipping but I was sent a replacement at no cost 4 days latter. They sound great at all volume levels. They are clean, clear and crisp and the bass can be felt all over. One word description, WOW! I am now a believer that JBL is just as good now as when I was drooling over them many years ago. this is a good sub. The big problem with this sub is that it doesn't dig very low. If it were flat to 20 Hz I'd give it 5 stars. Although, for the price, thats probably not gonna happen. The sub has relatively tight bass and a decent amount of output. I have a 20' x 13' x 9' room opening into the kitchen and hallway and it still produces a decent amount of bang. With the center channel producing 60% of the audio in a home theater you need a solid center channel speaker. No need to look any further with the Klipsch RC52. Very impressive performance and appearance. The audio reproduction is better then any center channel speaker I have ever owned. You can put your ear right up to this speaker during a movie and it sounds like someone is talking to you. This speaker is very efficient and requires little volume to get full sound. The speaker has no problem retaining a clear output when someone screams; there is no crackling like my previous center channel speaker. This speaker is pretty heavy at 25 lbs. You will either have to use some type of center channel bracket, component shelf, or heavy duty shelf brackets to mount this on the wall. I ended up using two wood shelf brackets that I installed with 4 screws per bracket, all with hollow wall anchors right into the dry wall. The Klipsch Reference series is not like the Klipsch Synergy series. The reference series are mid to high end home entertainment speakers that you have to get through an authorized dealer. You should know that a soundbar is not replacement for a home theater system. You are not going to the full impact bass and big room filling sound with a soundbar. What are you going to get? Convenience, simplicity and, if you set your expectations right, pleasing sound.

The JVC TH-BA1 delivers high value performance. It's an attractive, well built unit which provides sound that will probably put your TV audio to shame (it did mine - a Panasonic Viera plasma). The wireless subwoofer is a little muddy and undefined but does not overpower or boom. The unit has no variable crossover control but the factory setting sounds very balanced. You just plug it into a wall power outlet and follow the extremely simple pairing instructions and you are up in less than a minute.

The 2 surround settings are very subtle and natural sounding, avoiding that fake effect of many units. There are 2 optical inputs, so if you are not using HDMI this could come in handy for game consoles, disc players or DVRs. The small remote has the basic controls, plus the ability to control the relative loundness of the the center and surround channels, and the subwoofer. For you Tivo owners, the JVC codes work and you can control volume with your Tivo remote.

I choose this JVC unit over the Polk and Boston Acoustic offerings. I'd be curious to hear those units, but am very satisfied with the JVC. I'm looking at these speakers now on my shelf saying, "How do they do this for $350?" The moment you heft one of these out of the box, you know that there is that JBL quality in your hands. Absolutely perfect and flawless finish, robust, elegant well thought out and executed. Mine are in Cherry and they look beautiful. Ok, but these are speakers - what do they SOUND like?

I've been buying JBL speakers (and others too) since 1969. With JBL you rarely get cheated out of any spectrum. Bookshelf or full standing floor models, there will be a good balance of bass and midrange and treble, and this speaker is no exception. It sounds wonderfully balanced with no obvious exaggerations. Clear, clean and strong. I am using them with a 50W Onkyo receiver and there is no possible way I'd run out of power in my 22 x 16 room. I had a small subwoofer I was using with my previous bookshelf speakers. After installing these JBLs I unhooked it - not needed.

I am generally not a big fan of 3-way speakers which often have a disjointed or discombobulated kind of sound in the midrange. Not so here - this is as coherent and clear in the midrange as speakers I've owned costing many times the price of these. Vocal music sounds spectacularly good!

There are a LOT of small speakers out there and many of them cost upwards of $2500 a pair in audiophile circles. I can say with no hesitation this speaker will compete well sonically with any small bookshelf speaker at any price. Oh, speaking of bookshelves? Make sure yours is robust and strong - these speakers weigh a ton and a half.

JBL always shows them with the grills off, but they do come with nice black snap in grills which stand off about 1/2" from the face of the cabinet for a very nice appearance.

The binding posts on the back are strapped for bi-wire or bi-amping - a nice touch! I am not using that feature, but you never know. I bought my first JBL Lancers in 1969 for about $149 I think. That would translate into well over $1000 today, so these great sounding speakers at $350 have to be a real steal.
