BOSE(R) Companion 3 Multimedia Speaker System - Graphite / Silver Get it now!

My sole intention to get a new computer was for listening to music, which means that I had to accompany that with a large flatscreen and then, good sounding speakers. I picked the Bose because I was familiar with their products in the past. When I suggested a relative use computer music for her hair salon, I advised that she get Bose. That was my first time hearing the power of good speakers. That's all I need, to hear good sound for the Itunes, IPOD, and YOUTube.

I love the sound of the speakers. There is a large unit that I store underneath, and then you have the two small speakers that fit comfortably on the computer stand. Also, the small round unit called the multifunction control pod provides the capability for Mute and Sound, earphones.

My issue with the control pod is that there is no indicator that lets you know where the level of sound is. This can be disturbing, when all of a sudden, a boom is heard because of varying sound decibels.

These speakers can be mounted, but I find it easier just to place them on the stand. Adjustments are available, but I haven't the need yet to make any sound adjustments yet.

The speakers and unit are attractive silver. Setup was simple. These are great, great sound for my music!! .....Rizzo

Energy S-10.3 800-Watt 10-Inch Subwoofer (Black) Decide Now

I bought this subwoofer along with Energy TC 5 pack about 4 months ago, first 3-3 1/2 month i did not really use it because i did not have a receiver, i bought a brand new Onkyo-607 couple weeks ago. After all the break in and tweaking (crossover, phase etc) the sub works OK for mid to high sub frequencies but for low freq it makes a wierd noise like kur kur kur. for example during first 10 min of Terminator 2 and for songs like Baby boy - Beyonce, Slave for you -Britney spears etc. The noise level is so bad that you would not be able to bare it for more than 10 min, i watched entire T2 movie just to see if it was specific to a scene, during the movie it made the noise over 25 times.

I called Energy who said warantee is handled by the seller and has nothing to do with them. and the seller will make you ship it to their service center which usually costs $40-$60. I had to spend 2 hours on phone to convince them its' a bad sub to start with and is unusable. they sent me a return lable and i shipped the sub. i am not sure if they will repair the same or send me another one.

Yes, i am guilty of not doing enough research about subwoofer and just went by specifications and brand name. There are so many better subwoofers in the market e.g. Dayton, Polk, TSC that cost much less than this crappy one... TSC (the speaker company) is so confident about their speakers that they offer 30 day satisfaction garantee and they will pay for shipping both ways if you return the speakers. Same if you buy a sub from Best buy.

Do youself a favor and buy from a company where you can return with no cost to you and repairs won't cost you an arm and a leg.

I see a lot of deals with Energy speakers selling for a fraction of their price, do you wonder why? i suspect Energy may be going out of business.

Happy Holidays! Get more detail about Energy S-10.3 800-Watt 10-Inch Subwoofer (Black).

Low Price Energy ESW-V8 Subwoofer (Single, Black)

I'm using this sub as part of a 7.1 system that includes two Energy Take TWR speakers for the front channels, a Take FPS for the center channel, and four Take SAT speakers for the surrounds. It produces deep bass down to about 31Hz, which should be plenty for all but the deepest of bass aficionados. This results in a sub that handles all but the most challenging home theater tasks with ease. For example, at the beginning of the movie "Transformers", you hear and feel lots of deep bass for the helicopter in flight, but you just hear (rather than feel) the shock wave that the evil transformer sends out in it's first attack. (In all fairness, you'd need at least a 12-15" sub with considerably more power to feel that in your living room.)

The flip side of this lack of hyper-deep bass response is that the ESW-V8 is an extremely musical sub. I've thrown a large quantity of material at it, anything from classical to pop to dance to live jazz, and it handled them all with equal aplomb.

Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend this sub to anyone looking for a solid upgrade to their home theater system.Get more detail about Energy ESW-V8 Subwoofer (Single, Black).

Save Yamaha NS-125F 2-Way Bass-Reflex Tower Speakers, Black (Pair)

I bought these speakers to replace a pair of old Infinity speakers that actually cost a lot more. I was a little nervous buying such an inexpensive pair of main speakers but I really liked the look of them and you can't beat the price, so I gave it a try. I use them for music and home theater and I must say I am very happy with their performance, especially for the price.
They have well rounded sound, can handle pretty high volume levels without distortion and they look great. I also got the matching Yamaha SW315 sub woofer and the combination really sounds great for both music and movies. These speakers must be used with a sub woofer if you want any bottom end sound. This is by design.
When being driven with my Dolby 5.1 system this speaker set up shakes the house when watching action movies or listening to loud music! I couldn't ask for higher sound levels. Good price, good sound, good deal!Get more detail about Yamaha NS-125F 2-Way Bass-Reflex Tower Speakers, Black (Pair).

Discount Klipsch Reference Series RW-10d - Subwoofer - 260 Watt

I purchased this subwoofer to replace my Pioneer 200 watt 12" subwoofer which has seen its better days. I can say I am completely satisfied with the way the RW-10d performs in conjunction with with my Denon AVR-1906 receiver and Klipsh surround speakers and Bose center speaker. It adds depth, without distortion, to both my theater and music experience. Whether I am watching a drama with low volume deep tones, like a car engine or a fast action movie with the rumble of jet engines and bombs exploding, with enough kick to feel the action, it gives one the feeling of being there. As for music, I like everything from soft jazz to classic rock. The RW-10d adds enough bass to give a realistic live performance sound experience. My past experience with subwoofers is that no one volume setting works for all applications. The handy LED adjustment on the top of the speaker cabinet make this easy with the touch of a couple buttons. I wasn't sure how I would like the vertical mounted speaker. For years most speaker manufactures subscribed to the down firing subs, but I find this arrangement much more suited for home use were sensitivity is more important than a deep hard thump of hip hop. I have now incorporated my old 200W Pioneer with a replacement speaker in my DJ business system and I get just that kick I need for heavy dance music. As for the Klipsh RW-10d the only con I can think of is the need to get out of my recliner to make an adjustment for music or theater listening. A remote would have been nice, even if it added another $20 or $30 to the price. If you want good clean sound, as Klipsh is known for, I highly recommend you add this to your system. Cheapest ButtKicker BK-CMAK Couch/Chair Mounting Accessory Kit

This product works wonderfully in most applications. The only thing you need to be aware of is that if you are installing them on recliners, the recliners need to have feet. If the recliner has a round platform base, you need to be creative as the chair mounting kit does not fit well under the platform. I ended up making a paddle shaped platform to mount the kit and chair to out of 3/4 inch plywood where the mounting kit could slide under the 'handle' of the paddle so that the buttkicker would not interfere with either the chair rotation or the reclining. It also enabled me to slide the buttkicker chair unit completely under the platform. The other thing you need to do is to be very careful when tightening the nuts. You should tighten them evenly by rotating around the unit. If you don't you run the risk of breaking a foot on the buttkicker.

After you get past this, hang on!! The buttkicker is an incredible technology!Get more detail about ButtKicker BK-CMAK Couch/Chair Mounting Accessory Kit.

Buying Yamaha NS-M225P Floorstanding Speakers (Pair)

Once they have had a bit of time to burn in (10-20 hours), these have excellent range for the size of their drivers. They can hit fairly low notes (kick drums, bass guitars, explosions, etc.) but don't sacrafice on the mids or highs either. I've used them exclusively for music so far, and they have done wonderfully. I've thrown classical, rock, alternative, jazz, rap, and hip-hop at them.

Make sure to let them burn in for a little while before making a judgement. Out of the box they have a difficult time hitting low notes due to their small driver size, but after letting them play at moderate volumes for a while, they settle in very nicely.

These are worth the money when they are on sale for about $70, but wouldn't spend the $230 MSRP price tag on them. For $200, you can get a decent set of full size floor standing speakers that will have an even better frequency range than these...

I burnt my speakers in using a 50/50 combination of classical music and white noise at moderately loud volume for about 10-20 hours.Get more detail about Yamaha NS-M225P Floorstanding Speakers (Pair).
