Boston Acoustics Horizon Series MCS130 System Mist Speakers

If I had paid more than I did, 300 euros, I would've been sorely disappointed.
The satellites do sound great, not as warm as my old Infinity bookshelves, but very full. They are a little flat, not dynamic and they don't fill my little 6 X 15 ft. room, but still, their range is good and pure.

However!
The subwoofer, no matter what settings I've used on my very nice Marantz SR5002 AVR, and no matter where I put the ugly beast, doesn't hold up. I'm going to put it on the market and look for another sub. It's boomy, and while it :may: fill in the lost lower frequencies, it's hit and miss. Plus, did I say it's boomy?
Sorry, but for me, "house shaking" does not equal a good sub.
Better heard and not felt, is my feeling. I feel this thing, but just hear "whoomp whoomp whoomp." Is that music, or a jack-hammer?!
My old subs, a passive set by Cambridge Soundworks did a great job for their 15-year life. I heard all the rich sounds, but never got jolted mid-song by a misplaced "bra-ooomp!!"
Another :little: problem is the transformer in the sub hums. I had to take it out and re-screw it on the outside of the panal on the sub; no biggie if you've got a soldering iron, but we shouldn'be be hearing the sub humming during quieter parts of movies, right?

My opinion? If you can get this for under 300, take it, keep the sats, and try and sell the sub for a few bucks to a starving student.Get more detail about Boston Acoustics Horizon Series MCS130 System Mist Speakers.

Polk Audio RTi10 High Output Floorstanding Loudspeaker (Single, Black) Review

These speakers are great. I paired them with all Polk speakers for a 7.1 setup and I am not disappointed. Last night I cranked the system for the first time and they delivered crisp, clean sound. I did end up getting the Polk 10" sub. Without the sub, they do well but they don't shake the ground during explosions or heavy action scenes.

For me, the midtones are where they shine. This speaker fills in the gaps!

I'm not much of a tactful reviewer but I highly recommend spending a little more on these over the RTi8 units. I am soooo satisfied. Get more detail about Polk Audio RTi10 High Output Floorstanding Loudspeaker (Single, Black).

Polk Audio DSW MicroPRO 2000 Subwoofer Speaker (Single, Black) Top Quality

I have been interested in Home Theater systems for sometime now. Last March I purchased my system on Anazon.com and was satisfied. I am a newbie and was concerned that I had made some setup mistakes while following the Onkyo TX SR806 manual. The bass was just not what I had expected. The subwoofer I purchased was the Polk PSW111.
I finally talked myself into buying the Polk DSW Micropro 2000. Wow! What a difference. I realize they are more expensive, but it was well worth the extra cost. If one can afford the extra expense for the 2000 you will not be disappointed. The bass is so much better, and more enjoyable to listen to.
If you are not seeing any technical information on these speakers it is because I am still trying to learn what most of the terminology means. I can tell you they sound just great!!!

Boston Acoustics Horizon Series HPS-10HO 10-Inch 250-Watt Powered Subwoofer (Black) This instant

I purchased this sub after listening to sevaral different ones in music stores.I checked out as many as I could find.I have always liked boston speakers, but this is the first of thier purducts I have owned. There quality and sound is quite good. This sub has a rich powerfull sound,I was unable to find anything else this good for 400.00.I couldnt even find one that compared at all, where I live.My only complaint is boston makes really ugly looking speakers. This sub I can live with, but I will not buy there speakers.Unless they improve thier looks.Bottom line sounds great but as ugly as you can find.Get more detail about Boston Acoustics Horizon Series HPS-10HO 10-Inch 250-Watt Powered Subwoofer (Black).

Mirage Omnisat OS3-CC - Center channel speaker - 3-way - high-gloss black Immediately

Heard this center channel at Ultimate....was blown away by the sound. I really did not want to spend this much for a center speaker, but ponied up because the others I heard priced below this just could not match this unit. No deals on price (at the time I purchased), but saved with free shipping and no sales tax......works for me.Get more detail about Mirage Omnisat OS3-CC - Center channel speaker - 3-way - high-gloss black.

Pyle PPHP1598A 1000W 2 Way 15-Inch Powered Loudspeaker Best Quality

Pyle Pro PPHP1598A is a good speaker for the money...far less expensive than the JBL EON or the Behringer and if operated properly, will perform similarly. The trick with the PPHP1598A is to adjust the input level toward the low side and the volume level higher; carefully. The treble and bass adjustments are easy to over-do... in most cases, run them flat and you'll be fine. SIX or EIGHT of these are going to be FAR more effective than 3 or 4 of the JBLs. And you'll still be saving a lot of money.

Running these speakers on stands will significantly reduce their overall bass effectiveness... but they are quite powerful bass punchers nevertheless. If you need that much bass, you're likely going to be running sub-woofers anyway.Get more detail about Pyle PPHP1598A 1000W 2 Way 15-Inch Powered Loudspeaker.

JBL L880CH 6-Inch 4-Way Dual Floorstanding Loudspeaker (Cherry) Get it now!

I've got my L880s set up either side of my LCDTV and hooked up to my Yamaha separates with the tv out inputting to the preamp. I've been breaking them in slowly and they sound WONDERFUL. Sonically, they sound every bit as good as other reviewers have said. Reproduction of voice, piano and acoustic guitar is impressive and, occasionally, breathtaking. In use with the TV, they are excellent and I can see why some say no center channel speaker is needed. Also, they aren't bad in terms of their space requirements. For the money, I don't think these speakers can be beat.Get more detail about JBL L880CH 6-Inch 4-Way Dual Floorstanding Loudspeaker (Cherry).

Sony SRS T33 - Portable speakers - 0.36 Watt (total) Buy Now

I needed a set of very portable speakers that would fit into my laptop bag that would also improve the sound over the built-in speakers. I am very happy with these speakers.

The Pro's: 1) These speakers provide much more solid and direct sound than my built-in laptop speakers. 2) They perform surprising well in passive mode, but I believe they sound slightly better when powered by batteries. 3) Very portable, no extra adapter to lug around, speakers cannot fall over if sitting on an unstable surface. Will sit on most laptop computers out of the way above the keyboard if desk space is really limited or unavailable. However, music sounds better if the speaker is sitting on the desk next to the computer. 4) Seem durable and well built to last. Nothing sticking out to break off. Power switch not likely to get bumped and turned on while riding in your pack.

The Con's: 1) No built in volume control. You must use your computers mixer/volume control. 2) Audio is a little compressed sounding. This is ok for movies because you can hear the dialog better. But for music, if you have a graphic equalizer on your music player you can make them sound a LOT better than just feeding them flat audio. 3) No auto power off -- If you don't switch off the power the batteries will run down when not in use.

Just to summarize. Don't think that your're going to listen to music through these while your raking leaves in the back yard. These are small speakers! If your unhappy with the sound quality and level from your laptop speakers and you want a boost without the typical hassels of exernal speakers then you will be happy with these.

Klipsch F-2 Synergy FloorStanding Loudspeaker (Single, Black) Order Now

Ok, true audiophiles will probably not be satisfied with these. After all, you can get them (a pair) for under $800 and there are speakers out there that go for a lot more. So, if you are someone who is an expert at defining the quality of a set of speakers then go about your business.

Now, if you are basically a neophyte to speakers in any way, and you have the ability to put together a sound system that will rock your socks off when you are playing great music, then what you want to do is get you a set of these speakers, and match them to a great amplifier or receiver (I own an Onkyo A-9555 amplifier in the black color). Most people cannot lay down $2000 for a music system, let alone simply a pair of speakers. But for less than $1500 you can have a very good audio system here, and these speakers will also work with home theater ideas as well.

On the speakers themselves here's what I can tell you: they are magnificent. These were an upgrade from a pair of polkaudio TSi300 speakers and the difference is undeniable. Crisper, more clarified sound across all ranges with tremendous highs and amazing mids. (If you desire to get greater depth at bass might I recommend a pair of Cerwin Vega CLS-12 speakers to run along with these) The bass is quite good for speakers if this kind and the experience over the sorts of music I tend to like (rock and metal) comes across very good, if just a bit on the bright side. I am currently playing music with a crashing depth of sound and it sounds absolutely killer. Potent and refined, with generous gravity. For the price they cannot be beaten. There's not any better speakers on the market for the price.

So, grab you a pair, get you a nice power source, hook them up, and rock out.Get more detail about Klipsch F-2 Synergy FloorStanding Loudspeaker (Single, Black).

Polk Audio TSi400 Floorstanding Speaker (Single, Black) Decide Now

I am using these as my main front speakers, with a new Pioneer 1019 receiver. The sound and build quality are excellent -- especially for the money. The only reason I give them a 4 on sound is because you will definitely need a sub to fill in the bass. Maybe they were designed with that thought already in mind, and I do have a sub, but it's just my 2 cents. If you have a sub, or plan to buy one, these speakers are a great choice. BTW, the 400's are worth the extra $200 if you can afford it -- they have a fuller sound. I initially bought the 300's and took them home, but swapped them for the 400's. Polk Audio Monitor 70 3-Way Floorstanding Speaker (Single, Black) Right now

I have these big guys hooked up to to Harmon Kardon 3490.
As most say, the sound is clean, crisp, and "read my lips" .... PLENTY OF BASS!!!!
I bought a Polk psw10 subwoofer because of some concerns others have had... I find that the subwoofer
detracts from the beautiful sound (and yes bass) of the M70s.
The subwoofer is not need and I dont use it ... probably going to Ebay.
If you listen to music these guys are perfect. Full rich sound. I feel like I'm listening
to the artist live right next to them.
Now will these speakers shake and rumble your house when a dinosaur crashes across your tv screen ... dunno ...
maybe they will. All I can say is you will not find a better speaker for the money, probably twice the money!

Lowest Price Bose® Acoustimass® 16 Series II home entertainment speaker system - Black

This speaker set up is awesome. KEEP IN MIND that this does not have a sub like the other setups that other manufacters sell. The large unit shown in the picture is what is called a Modulator. It gives you low end for the other 6 speakers. Almost like a sub, but not the samething at all. Pair this up a JBL 12" powered sub with this setup and you are at the IMAX!! Trust me add a sub and your done. I have my setup powered by an Onkyo THX Ultra 2 certifed reciever and a 12"JBL powered sub in a 20x16 room and shakes the walls!

Low Price MICRO120X Satellite Speaker

I just bought these as fronts for my system. I have 120x in front with a CRC7 center, 110x as surrounds and a CR4 sub. I am really really happy with all of the speakers I bought. The 110s and 120s have very clean and open highs and mid. The bass is not there, but the sub picks it up just fine. I highly recommend these speakers.Get more detail about MICRO120X Satellite Speaker.
