I bought these for dual purposes; to improve audibility in my home theater setup, and to allow me to listen to music through that setup without being frustrated by the typical home theater's audio quality. These are superb for both uses. They give an open, clear, balanced sound no matter where you sit. They give excellent audio detail. You hear things in the music you did not know were there. They have a 'precise' sound. My main speakers are Mirage OM-9's, they were 3K and the top of their line when I got them. These speakers with my home theater subwoofer are quite close and I don't lose much except a bit of base tightness when I move from one system to another.
